December 2020 is the month of a big mood shift. This year the opening and closing astrological events almost exactly coincide with the astronomical year. While at the beginning in January we started off with a full moon lunar eclipse in Cancer and Saturn-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn, we are ending it on a higher note with two important lunations - a new moon solar eclipse in Sagittarius and later a normal full moon in Cancer alongside the long-anticipated Jupiter-Saturn conjunction a.k.a The Great Conjunction.

The astrological traffic for the month of December is quite busy-busy!. Here are some of the power dates to mark your calendar:

6 December
Venus in Scorpio trine Neptune in Pisces

This aspect helps us dissolve boundaries between us and other people (if not online - take all the measures necessary by 2020).

Deep emotional bonding can happen through sharing of heavy experiences or acknowledging other people’s feelings. Togetherness, closeness and emotional intimacy can help us see our real self and the inner world of the people closest to us. We may feel inspired and eager to give but we should be careful not to cross our emotional or financial boundaries.

The depth and intensity of the feelings seek a physical outlet. Venus often manifests as arts, emotions and creativity and in this way helps us express some of the feelings the aspect brings. If you feel stuck it is a good time for meditative practices to help channel the excess emotions and tension.

9 December

Sun square Neptune

If you needed an excuse to procrastinate, this is it!

It is a day to relax. Considering it is a weekday that might not be possible. But if it is - you can become one with the sofa without feeling guilty.
Neptune reminds us that it is okay to just be, without doing anything. Sit with yourself and your thoughts.
If you have scheduled activities with lots of details better postpone them for another day.

10 December

Venus sextile Pluto

Exploring relationship power dynamics. A moment for emotional revelations in order to change the dynamics.
What’s the driving force in your intimate relationships? Compassion or lost trust? And what pushes your buttons?

This day can strengthen and stabilize your relationships or you can totally lose your shit or trust in the other person.
Whatever happens, Venus is in an overcoming position so she will do everything in our best interest.

11 December

Sun trine Mars and conjunct the South Node

Two aspects with opposite significations that help us do one very important thing:
Let go of old beliefs, intellectual burden or habits, empty the cave behind the eyes from things that came up since mid-2020 and we need to finally let go.

This will help us to make space for new ideas, habits and thoughts that are worth investing our drive, energy, motivation and action into.
Mars has finally gathered his thoughts and is ready to act, leadership and determination are the keywords here. This will bring progress especially if there is a specific goal in mind.
This is a great day for planning, especially because we will be a little more confident and full of enthusiasm and ideas.

Our intellectual evolution needs a better outlet. Make it one that matters.

14 December

Mood shift day

Mercury conjunct the South Node, then trine Mars, Venus sextile Jupiter, New Moon and a total solar eclipse in Sagittarius

Communication, writing, speaking, dealing and thinking will be highlighted today. People who we share the same worldview or passion with can motivate us to take action after releasing old mental habits.

The New Moon is usually time for rituals, but this one is a total solar eclipse so it’s better to avoid them unless you are doing it together with your psychologist.

This lunation brings endings, completion and finalization. We still have time to act by choosing the scenario of the ending based on our new and purified by 2020 self. The sunlight will be temporarily blocked so we can count on our other senses besides the vision to guide our way through this transformation. At the end of the day, Venus sextiling Jupiter will bring a balm for the soul, intimacy, love, companionship.

A good day to be thankful and grateful for everything and everybody in our lives and a perfect moment to share the feelings which will soothe all the other aspects of the day.

Rituals for the new moon are not recommended but dehydration si possible so water in any form will support the body and soul. Drink more water, swim or take a shower.

15 December

Venus ingresses into Sagittarius

The planet of Love can’t be too far behind Mercury and the Sun so joins them in the mutable fire sign. Here she acts like the mediator and the glue between big ideas, wisdom, beliefs and people, groups and alliances.

Love is in the air! Conversations today become sexy and intellectual but also light-hearted and fun. A day for pleasant meetings, spending time with loved ones, buying gifts, sharing love, time and care.

17 December

Saturn ingresses into Aquarius (until 2023) after 3 years in Capricorn

Saturn’s keywords are isolation, structure, boundaries, security, effort and constriction. Capricorn is a Saturn ruled sign that loves administration, solid base, moral, but also holds the status quo and love of the past in high regard. Do you see the connection between this and 2020?

During the past three years, the Capricorn parts of our natal charts needed our efforts, hard work and devotion for the sake of making a solid foundation for us to grow and expand. Shaking things up and restructuring is Saturn’s daily errand.

But on this day Saturn moves into Aquarius. Another sign that he traditionally rules. In the fixed air sign, he operates looking towards the future, to the new world and social order, to building it with less fear.

The shift is from heavy, materialistic and earthy themes to light, airy, higher and more socially responsible morals.

19 December

Jupiter enters Aquarius

And he will be there most of 2021. The co-presence of the King of the Gods with Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn was not easy and led to many of the restrictions this year. Capricorn is definitely not his happy place since he operates with dry matter and boring stuff. Moving to Aquarius is not a huge change in dignity but is neutral and sounds like a “phew”.

He can finally start to show and give us his generosity, wisdom and good doing. The overall mood will be felt like a breath of fresh air!

The Sun-Mercury cazimi (conjunction) on the same day will help us share the good news and any kind of messages strongly and using the best means.

Share your thoughts today and let them be meaningful.

20 December

Mercury ingresses into Capricorn

Like we didn’t have enough of this already! At least the Messenger of the Gods is more constructive, keeps his word and helps us make the bonds with words long-lasting.

Be careful what you say, think and sign today!

21 December

TA-DA-DA-DAM
THE GREAT CONJUNCTION

Jupiter is conjunct Saturn in 0 degrees of Aquarius

This aspect is the one we’ve been dreaming of the whole year (some of us for the last 3, 30 or more years).

It is the most important aspect of the decade for sure. And can you believe we are actually witnessing it? From home. Locked (hopefully not).

Last time both planets met in Aquarius was on 7 January 1405. And the last time people could actually see it in the sky (because of physics and astronomical reasoning) was 796 years ago.

The biggest planets in our Solar system will be visible in the night sky in the Northern hemisphere with the naked eye very very very close to each other (not exactly because of latitude and longitude, so the separation will be 0.1 degrees).

It is a rare event because its astronomical and astrological aspects complete each other and make it even more important.

In order to see it from the Northern Hemisphere, you need to find a place with a clear view towards the south-southwest horizon. The show will be visible 40 minutes after sunset. Two hours later both planets will have already set. In the Southern Hemisphere, Jupiter and Saturn will appear in the evening twilight about half an hour after sunset, but they will only be visible for one hour before disappearing below the western horizon. So plan your star gazing accordingly since time is scarce.

What will this bring to us according to the astrological signs?

Changes in the near and distant future. During the next 200 years, Jupiter and Saturn will be making their conjunctions in air signs instead of earth signs (as for the last 200 years). The collective and social spheres were infused with tea of materialism, industrial revolution and disconnect from people and nature. This conjunction will switch the themes to: different ideas and thoughts, new ways of learning, philosophy and worldview more concerned with the way we as people interact, communicate, travel, learn and teach, and what kind of community we are building and living in.

Let’s use the last December days before this event to reflect on what we’ve achieved, what we fought for, how we’ve changed and grown. This will help us clear our minds, reset and prepare for the future.

On the same day, we have the Winter Solstice. Every culture around the world had and has it’s own tradition and symbolism about this day of purification and looking inside ourselves. Let’s share our gratitude for the light and life the Sun gives us at all times and pray for it to help us plant the seeds for a better future inside each one of us.

30 December

Full Moon in Cancer

What better way to end the year than a closing cycle, fruition of our efforts and it happens in the most caring and nurturing sign of watery Cancer. Mother Earth is our home, we’ve done her enough harm.

On this day we can indulge in rituals for letting go, releasing and healing generational trauma, fear, feelings of insecurity, greed, unhealthy emotional attachments, bad food and nutritional habits. And all this so we can create better food for our mind and body, enrich our intuition, compassion, care, softness, find our vulnerability and make it a part of our lives, give and receive protection, communicate with sensitivity and nurture our roots.

Writing all the things you need to let go and let them flow in the sea/river/ocean and declare your wish to release all that is holding you back.

Take a cleansing bath or shower, enjoy a safe and nurturing environment, good food and company.

And at least we will be quite shiny and squeaky clean for New Year’s Eve!

Wishing you all the best for the year ahead and all the years to come.

Love more, worry less!
